The Network Probe Server must run on a host with a promiscuous-mode
capable network card. The probe server should be connected to a link
where it can see all the traffic it wants to monitor, preferrably a
"mirrored port" (SPAN port) on a switch.
Network Probe Server:
- Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000 (with admin access)
- Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris (with root access)
- Sun Java Runtime Environment 1.4 or higher
- A network card supporting promiscuous mode connected to a SPAN port
- Recommended hardware is at least a 2GHz CPU and 1 GB of RAM

- Windows: Internet Explorer 6 and newer
- Windows: Firefox 1.5 and newer
- Windows: Opera 8.54 and newer
- Linux: Firefox 1.5 and newer
