Plugin architecture. Add your own functionality by writing your own modules. Start with the included examples, and customize the plugin to provide you with the features you need.
	Internal design. Opinio is designed to be extendable. In addition to plugins, the modular internal design makes future updates easier.
	Web services. Opinio will support Web Services soon (2005), to make system integration possible. You can have your CRM system respond to a survey, or perhaps have the CRM retrieve a survey response and use it as personnel data. The possibilities are endless.

Scalability and Availability

A survey solution must be scalable to cope with high loads. Opinio is designed to be fast and responsive even during high traffic.

	Opinio easily handles large numbers of respondents to any number of surveys.
	Simultaneous users. Opinio allows for many survey designers and administration users to work on their surveys or view reports at the same time. This means high availability at a low cost. Some installations of Opinio have more than 1000 survey authors, running more than 100 surveys simultaneously.
	High Scalability is available through highly optimized design, and clustering support. This means that if one server can't handle the load, Opinio allows you to add up to 16 servers - all acting as one coherent application.
	High Availability and Robustness. Because Opinio clustering is possible, your surveys will still be running even if one or more of your servers are down - as long as at least one of the servers are up.

Flexibility

Opinio offers complete control of Survey design. All common question types, like multiple choice, rating/scale, lists, matrix/table etc, are pre-made and ready-to-use. In addition, you can customize the look & feel and input types to suit your needs down to the last detail.

	Question format. Ask a question in any format, layout and arrangement.
	Response validation. Control the format of the answers, and customize the messages to the respondents if the answers need correction.
	Reports. Customize the content, layout and behaviour of the reports.
	Reusing resources. Opinio encourages reuse of surveys, questions, lists, headers/footers etc.
	Applications. In addition to regular surveys, Opinio can provide the technology for: essay tests, user registration, job application form, support form, etc. The database is openly available, and can be integrated with other systems.
